March – May 2014
***Spring Arts and Sciences Championship***
Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Let it be known that the Baronial Arts and Sciences Championship is drawing near. On March 8, 2014 we will gather to display our wondrous creations and determine our new champion.
The Championship is open to all who live in northern Artemisia. Those who wish to become Champion must enter 5 items in at least 2 Grand Categories. For information on the Grand Categories, go to: http://www.artemisia.sca.org/arts-and-sciences/ and download the Competition Guidelines Handbook. Section 3 Guidelines for Judges & Entrants has the categories. We will be following the Kingdom of Artemisia judging forms and rules.
We will be adding youth divisions to the A&S competition. We are still working out the details so watch for the information in the next BnB.
I would like to encourage everyone in the Barony to enter, even if it is one item. Part of your entry is your documentation. Should you like some help with your documentation, please let me know. Between now and 3 weeks before the Baronial Championship, you can send me your documentation for review at firstname.lastname@example.org. Allow at least 2 weeks for the review.
We will also need scrolls for the competition. If you would be interested in doing one of the champion scrolls, please contact me at email@example.com.
You are only four months away from the competiton!
The Baron and Baroness of Sentinels’ Keep would like to invite all of the good people of Artemisia to their Spring Feast to witness the choosing of their new Arts and Science Champion!
There will be a feast, as well as a fundraising lunch. Come and display your work and your wares. Merchants welcome but due to lack of space, will be limited to one table, self supplied, unless we are blessed with great weather and then you may set up as much as you want outside.
Join in the auction fun, the Barony’s biggest fundraiser of the year! Please bring donations for the auction if you are able.
Weather permitting there will be fighting tournaments for both heavies and rapier shortly after court. If you are entering any items, they must be displayed for judging before you begin fighting.
